Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg LLP has added Matthew R. Tanke as associate counsel to its Intellectual Property & Technology Transactions practice group.
Tanke’s arrival grows the roster of this nationally recognized practice to 33 attorneys, with extensive experience in all aspects of intellectual property, including litigation and management of significant trademark and patent portfolios.
Tanke comes to Neal Gerber Eisenberg from Hanley, Flight & Zimmerman, where he served as associate since 2013. In that role he was responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications, preparing appeal briefs, and advising clients on prosecution and continuation strategies.
Tanke has experience working with a wide range of technologies such as fluid control devices and systems, child care products, marine equipment, audience measurement and healthcare management.
Prior to his career in patent law, Tanke worked as an automation engineer, where he designed and implemented safe and efficient systems to improve production for food-processing facilities.
Tanke earned his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in 2013, where he graduated cum laude and won multiple CALI Awards for highest grades. He received his B.S. in mechanical engineering from Northwestern University, and was a member of the Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Honors Program.
Tanke is admitted to practice in Illinois and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
