On January 15, 2016, Seth D. Lamden, partner in the Insurance Policyholder practice group, will participate in a panel at the IDC Insurance Seminar focused on defense counsel's rights and ethical obligations to the insured when asked by an insurer to comply with billing guidelines. Topics discussed will include: whether billing guidelines are enforceable; which guidelines must a defense attorney refuse to follow; how a defense attorney should handle reporting when it learns confidential information from the insured that could affect coverage; how defense attorneys can maximize the likelihood that their bills will be paid in full when submitting them to insurers for reimbursement.
