NGE Intellectual Property Partners Mike Harlin and Kevin O’Connor will attend the American Conference Institute’s 2nd Annual Life Sciences AI Summit, which will take place on February 20-21, 2025, in New York, NY. This event will provide attendees insight into managing and navigating AI’s legal and regulatory challenges in life sciences.    

On February 20, Mike will join the panel discussion “IP Protections for AI-Driven Innovations: Navigating Ownership and Inventorship Challenges in the Life Sciences.” This session will highlight how the budding role of AI in life sciences innovation adds another layer of complexity to IP law and discuss the importance of managing the uncertainties of inventorship and ownership while safeguarding AI-driven innovations. The panel will provide insight into joint ownership implications, patentability, ownership rights, distinguishing proprietary data from AI-generated datasets and infringement risks.
