Freya Bowen is a trial and appellate lawyer in the firm’s Litigation and Insurance Policyholder Practice Groups. Freya has over twenty years of complex commercial litigation and arbitration experience. For fifteen years, her litigation practice has focused on insurance coverage under GL, D&O, professional lines, and other coverage classes. Freya has also counseled multi-national manufacturers, financial institutions, publicly-traded and privately-held corporations, and directors, and officers in significant insurance coverage disputes, often in connection with professional liability and D&O insurance programs. Freya has argued before state and federal trial and appellate courts and administrative agencies. She also has extensive experience with briefing dispositive motions and key legal issues in coverage litigation as well as negotiating settlements of coverage disputes.
Before entering private practice, Freya served as a law clerk to the Honorable Sidney R. Thomas of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Freya has served on the Board of Governors of the Seventh Circuit Bar Association, and on the Board of the Appellate Practice Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin. Outside of her practice, Freya teaches Introduction to American Law as an adjunct professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School.
