An NGE team led by John Koenigsknecht, Chair of the Corporate & Securities practice group, acted as U.S. legal counsel for Sandstorm Gold Ltd. in its recent acquisition of Nomad Royalty Company Ltd. Under the terms of the deal, Sandstorm issued 74.4 million common shares to former Nomad shareholders at an exchange ratio of 1.21 Sandstorm shares for each Nomad share. The deal was conducted concurrently with Sandstorm’s acquisition of nine royalties and one stream from Base Core Metals LP, a package worth $525 million. The total combined acquisitions are valued at US$1.1 billion.

Other members of the NGE team included Elaine Taussig and David Stone of the Corporate & Securities practice group and Jeffrey Shamberg, Chair of the Taxation practice group.
